Top Ten Tuesday #91: Books for every contemporary hater

Today's Topic:
 Ten Nine Books Every
Contemporary Hater Should Read

First, let me assure you I am NOT going to try to convince you of why contemporary fiction is the best thing ever. If you know me at all, you know you will not find that here... I'm honestly a contemporary fiction hater, not because I just hate contemporary, but because I need MORE in my books. I cannot stand reading a book about some random girl falling in love and dealing with drama and living happily ever after. Instead, I'm bringing you nine books with contemporary settings PLUS (+) MORE!

Compulsion by Martina Boone (magic/ghosts)
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon (bizarre illness/crazy twist)
The House by Christina Lauren (+ possessed house)
Nevermore by Kelly Creagh (+ Edgar Allen Poe
The Raft by S.A. Bodeen (+ survival)

The Royal We by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan (+ fairytale)
The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes (+ crazy cult)
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin (+ unreliable narrator)
Withering Hope by Layla Hagen (+ romantic survival)
