Top Ten Tuesday #210: Scary villains

Today's Topic:
Top Ten Scariest Villains

Villains!! Today I realized that a lot of my favorite books don't have clear cut villains. I tend to enjoy books with more morally gray characters. Eventually though, I did manage to find ten that I found to be genuinely scary or disturbing.

Amarantha - A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Dolores Umbridge - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
Gilead - The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
Jack Torrance - The Shining by Stephen King
Keris Veturia - An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

The Nightmare Elf - Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz
President Snow - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Other Mother - Coraline by Neil Gaiman
Queen Levana - Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Saruman - The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
